There are six SRP Plans that are offered for customers that do not have a solar panel system at their home. To view the details of these plans on SRP’s website, click here. The plans are:
- Time-of-Use Plan (E-26)
- EZ-3 Plan (E-21 and E-22)
- Residential Demand Plan Pilot (E-27 P)
- Electric Vehicle Plan (E-29)
- M-Power Plan (E-24)
- Basic Plan (E-23)
It is important for homeowners to understand the standard SRP Plans before upgrading to solar power. This is because going solar may or may not require behavior change to save the most amount of money.
Homeowners that are on the Basic Plan before solar must understand that, instead of having a flat price per kilowatt-hour (kWh), they will have different usage charges depending on the time of day and day of the week. On-Peak times in the Winter (November through April) are 5AM to 9PM and 5PM to 9PM. Also, On-Peak times in the Summer (May, June, September, October) are 2PM to 8PM. Finally, On-Peak times in the Summer Peak (July, August) are 2PM to 8PM.
Off-Peak times are on weekends and certain holidays. For a detailed explanation of the SRP Plans after solar, see our page on SRP Solar Plans.

Consumers Must Understand the SRP Plans
Those who are considering installing a solar system in their home should understand that electricity savings will not automatically come. Many of the salespeople who sell solar power systems do not understand the SRP plans and how they work after going solar. Their primary aim is to earn commission instead of to educate customers. They do this with a sales script that sounds something like: “You install solar panels on your roof in SRP and you save money!”
Unfortunately, many customers who have gone solar in SRP do not save any money. In fact, they pay more for their electricity after solar than they did before solar. To save money with solar in SRP, customers must educate themselves as much as possible. Further, they must work with an experienced and educated solar salesperson. Finally, the salesperson should have referrals and examples of current SRP customers that are saving money with solar.
Understanding the SRP Plans
For customers that are going solar, it is important that you understand the SRP Plans before solar. Some of these plans are identical to post-solar SRP Plans. Some of these plans are exclusively offered for customers that do not have solar. We will cover the SRP Plans in detail below.
Time-of-Use Plan (E-26)
The E-26 Time-of-Use Plan is identical to SRP’s post-solar E-13 Time-of-Use Plan. The only differences are that the E-26 Plan has a monthly service charge of $20.00 and the E-13 Plan has a monthly service charge of $32.44. Further, the E-26 Plan does not have a solar export credit because it is for SRP customers that do not have a solar panel system.
This plan has lower usage charges compared to the EZ-3 Plan, but it also has more On-Peak hours during the week than the EZ-3 Plan. To save money on this plan, customers should avoid running their large appliances during On-Peak times, especially in the Summer and Summer Peak months.
For more detailed information on the Time-of-Use Plan, see SRP’s Time-of-Use Price Plan Sheet.

EZ-3 Plan (E-21 and E-22)
The E-21 EZ-3 Plan and the E-22 EZ-3 Plan are identical except for when the three On-Peak hours occur. The E-21 EZ-3 Plan is for customers that choose to have their On-Peak hours from 3PM to 6PM Monday through Friday. The E-22 EZ-3 Plan is for customers that choose to have their On-Peak hours from 4PM to 7PM Monday through Friday.
In exchange for receiving less On-Peak hours, the usage charges on this plan are higher than the other plans that have On-Peak and Off-Peak segments. This plan only has three On-Peak hours per day during the week for the entire year. The Time-of-Use, Residential Demand, and Electric Vehicle Plans have eight On-Peak hours per day during the week in the Winter. Further, they have six On-Peak hours per day during the week in the Summer and Summer Peak months.
For more detailed information on the EZ-3 Plans, see SRP’s E-21 Price Plan Sheet and SRP’s E-22 Price Plan Sheet.
Residential Demand Plan Pilot (E-27 P)
The E-27 P Residential Demand Plan is identical to the post-solar E-27 Customer Generation Plan. This plan has very low usage charges compared to all the other SRP Plans. However, it makes up for that with potentially expensive Demand Charges. Customers can save money on this plan by completely avoiding the use of large appliances during On-Peak times. Additionally, a Demand Manager device can further increase savings by automatically preventing high demand by disallowing simultaneous appliance operation.
For more detailed information on the Residential Demand Plan Pilot, see SRP’s Residential Demand Price Plan Sheet.
Electric Vehicle Plan (E-29)
The E-29 Electric Vehicle Plan is identical to the post-solar E-14 Electric Vehicle Plan. This plan has very similar usage charges to the E-26 Time-of-Use plan. However, this plan’s Off-Peak usage charges are slightly higher. Further, this plan is designed for customers that own an electric vehicle. It adds the Super Off-Peak time segment from 11PM to 5AM to allow for inexpensive vehicle charging at night.
For more detailed information on the Electric Vehicle Plan, see SRP’s Electric Vehicle Price Plan Sheet.
M-Power Plan (E-24)
The E-24 M-Power Plan is SRP’s budget-friendly plan. This plan does not have any On-Peak and Off-Peak time segments or Demand Charges. Further, it has flat Usage Charges for Winter, Summer, and Summer Peak. On every other plan, customers use electricity and then pay SRP later with a monthly bill. However, on the M-Power plan, customers pay for their electricity before using it. This is done through an app that customers download on their phones. Additionally, a device that displays the electricity use details is installed in the customer’s home.
This plan is suited for customers that do not have a consistent source of income. Also, customers that struggle to pay the large SRP bills in the summer will enjoy this plan. Because, they can pre-purchase electricity in advance when it is convenient to them. Also, customers can monitor how much electricity they have remaining on the app. This aids them in minimizing their energy use because they can track when their home electricity will be shut off.
Customers that have a history of non-payment or late payments are placed on the M-Power plan by SRP. Also, customers must pay some fees when starting the plan: a $102.50 refundable deposit; a $11.50 non-refundable fee for the display box; a $30 one-time service establishment fee; and a $30 initial advance credit on the meter.
For more detailed information on the M-Power Plan, see SRP’s M-Power Price Plan Sheet.
Basic Plan (E-23)
The E-23 Basic Plan is SRP’s standard and default plan for customers that do not have a solar panel system. This plan does not have On-Peak and Off-Peak time segments or Demand Charges. Further, it has one flat-rate usage charge for Winter. Additionally, it has two flat-rate usage charges for under 2,000 kWh and over 2,000 kWh for Summer and Summer Peak. This plan lacks the lower-priced Off-Peak times of other plans, and it has relatively high usage charges. Thus, customers that wish to save money on electricity should not choose this plan.
For more detailed information on the Basic Plan, see SRP’s Basic Price Plan Sheet.
